Laying Down the Beta!

Ok, here is the first of probrably many betas for 3.0.

Post your feelings on this mod, change list is only a few of the ones I have posted on the blog, I'm still working on the rest. This is just to make sure you guys don't get bored and also for you to provide your opinions on how you feel.

The spawn random Ion storms, doesn't really work all to well, in a 30minute match I only saw one, also the Nod infantry are too buffed, as well as the Nod Obelisk of Light. Another thing I noticed is that the un holy alliance does not have AI support which should be implemented. Also in the Beta I did not see any of those smackdown units.

yeah, I was thinking of changing it to "Create Random Ion Cannon Strikes"

Why do you feel that the nod infantry and obelisk are too buffed?

also, Smackdown units are still being made right now so wait for beta 2.

Also, Do not expect AI for unholy alliance in this mod. Maybe after 3.0 is done.

Just the fact that the Nod infantry (basic riflemen) can shoot at planes other basic infantry cannot. Also the nod obelisk of light can shoot at planes where as GDI needs to waste money on tons of different defense structures.

Yes, but the Nod infantry get demolished by Jobbers and Riflemen, and GDI has a more powerful anti ground and anti air than nod(final tier). Also GDI has mammoth tanks.

True, maybe you should create a list of good counter units etc. Also have you ever though of creating some unit skins?

you need to remove that avatar because all any one really needs to do is build one, then find an enemy tank.

boom, you got 2, then start to march on the guys base and just park out side his war factory or what ever, and you get every tank that comes out.

in the older version it was way over powered as it could destroy the GDI cannon in one hit and the flame thrower on the avatar had too much range.

play a mission or skermish as GDI vs a balanced NOD and you will see what i mean.

or you could do some thing else, change that avatar into an upgraded one, instead of having to rip all the parts from other tanks etc because fighting a avatar that can turn tanks into other avatars that are also one hit kill on troops is not fun for some one else that is playing as the other factions

If you are fighting against an enemy Catalyst Avatar, use another catalyst avatar to kill him or get The Rance Coasta on it or use planetary assault carriers.

If you are using it against A.I. IT IS YOUR OPTION TO USE IT, NO ONE IS FORCING YOU.

Not really a problem but something that could possibly be fixed is the fact that the A.I. won't use the starting units.

Also are you planning on molding for Red Alert 3?

im not trying to knock your mod or any thing, but just try and play a skermish or mission as GDI.

im also trying to give you the view of some one on the other side of the avatar if i was playing the mod online vs another human player.

but the idea over all is cool, but i would think that a better way would be to make your own version of the RA2 terror drone, that would then turn tanks into avatars but only after some amount of time but would also render the tank useless as if it was hit by an emp.

the player could then shoot the tank destroying the drone trying to reshape it.

besides, if you have 3 of your avatars moving in on your base you may as well just nuke your self, thats how over powered i find that avatar.

Use a rance costa against it. Use infantry against it. Use shockwave artillery.
