C&C Retarded 2.7 - The Beta

Hey guys, just wanted to let you all know that I released a beta of 2.7 that is only downloadable from moddb. The purpose of this beta is to let me know what works and what doesn't work, in order to speed up the production of 2.7.

Please post as much as you can about this version in the comments, give me bug reports and your ideas for changes.

Changelist (tell me which ones don't work):

  • Give Catalyst Avatars the ability to convert other Catalyst Avatars into their army's. (Encourage Catalyst on Catalyst Action)
  • R.O.F. Nurf for Devastator Warships
  • Double the size of Nod's Cloaking Field and let it Also Stealth Vehicles
  • Double the attack power of Sonic Emitters
  • Radar Scan will reveal more
  • Stealth Tanks will deal more damage
  • Rance Costa build time will now be set to 30 seconds
  • Catalyst Avatar build time is now two minutes
  • Build time of Vertigo bombers and Firehawks have been halfed
  • Vertigo AA weapon has been doubled
  • All tech centers take 2 minutes to build and require $10,000
  • Nod Commando can now fire at aircraft and no longer uses c4
  • All Transport vehicles (Ox ect..) get double the health
  • Temple Prime added to Nod Faction, allows huge power and build radius boost.
  • Sniper Drop (GDI) Will now contain twice the snipers
  • All Mammoth Tanks now include 1 Repair Drone
  • Ion Cannon Control Center comes with 3 AA Turrets
  • GDI Tech Center comes with 3 Sonic Emitters
  • Ion Cannon's Prep time is set back to 5 minutes
  • Catalyst Avatar will now require Secret Shrine
  • Rance Costa will now require Armory
  • Shadow Teams fly twice as fast
  • GDI foxholes take half as much time to build
  • Nod and GDI Powerplants can now upgrade without a tech building
  • Catalyst Avatars must have temple prime to be built, and also now have a build time of 5 seconds.
  • Catalyst Avatars will now have a 100 Second Life time (not just the original)

They just disappear after 40 seconds.

Obligatory narrative justification:

Catalyst Avatars are composed of catalyst anti mater, the same material that decoy army's are constructed of. Catalyst Avatars utilize the energy of what they once were to maintain actual materialistic density. They are essentially replicators with big lasers.

Oh, ok. Also theres a huge problem with the AA Turrets that come with the Ion Cannon and Sonics that come with the Tech Center. A normal Sonic cost 2k but the ones that you get from the 10k Tech Center can be sold back for 5k each. I basically made 9000 easy Credits. The same with the AA, they sold back fro 2500 each.

I love the mod thus far. But maybe making the countdown for the Liquid Tiberuim Bomb longer than the nuke, or maybe give it to all the factions.

I cannot DL this file, keeps saying File Needs Authorization. Whether I log in or not. Can someone put it on MegaUpload or a similar site so the rest of us can try it as well..

Actually, about the selling the turrets and gained back a big amount of money is the same with the Nod's Nuke.

Each obelisk can be sold for 2.5k each.

So far i've encountered a few missing functions you've mentioned in the list.

-Mammoths doesn't have the repair drones

- Ion's prep time is still 2.3mins.

- GDI foxholes duration still seemed the same.

- New player colours missing.

- Radar Scan reveals the same size.

Also, someone enterprising enough could sell the watch tower from the foxhole to get another infantry unit, and they can keep building foxholes for base defences and more units.

They die in 30 seconds and their husks dissappear 10 seconds later (I think)

I think he meant, the Catalyst Avatar YOU build have 30 seconds lifetime.

But the Catalyst you got after your Catalyst kills a vehicle will have 40 seconds lifetime.

Oh, ok. But I really think it should be the other way around. I thought gunrun said that they do just dissappear after 40 seconds, so it's kinda the same thing.

Catalyst avatars are useless .. they can live only 40 sec ... how can they be used? Use it as a defense .. no need because they die after 40 sec! And even attack because in less than 40 sec must take into combat zones and if you think of a medium-sized map ...
Gdi costs are too powerful and is a great imbalance between the various factions!

That's 'cuz you suck and don't understand the concept of expansion. You know just because you start across the map doesn't mean you can't get the outpost that comes in at the beginning of the game and park it close to the enemy base and defend it with their Obelisks.
Then you could tech up and get the Catalyst and build it close to their base. IF your going against anyone using vehicles, you can't really run out of Catalysts. Just save their WF and Powerplants for last. Aim for Harvestors too.

augustsonreal...if for a moment you connect the brain (only for a moment because to do so it risks to melt!) you understand the enormous nonsense that you mentioned, but perhaps you are used to playing with children and you use idiote tactics, similar to those of Zapp Brannigan! Play It again augustsonreal...maybe you will be more lucky!

Maybe this is from an old version, but NOD infantry seem too powerful. Even with the armor upgrade, a NOD infantry unit will massacre a GDI one hands down.

Not to mention they have AA capabilities...

Me and my friend both think that the tech centers take too long to build, it was better with the last mod.it also takes too long to charge the super weapon for scrin.
just our two cents.
